April Favourites

I don't know about anyone else but I seemed to have loads of products to try in April. I've had plenty of products that could have made it in to my favourites this month but instead I decided to show you what I was using the most and loving at the same time.

Nip and Fab Deep Cleansing Fix.

This has been my saviour this month. I've been using this as both a cleanser and as a face mask and let me tell you it works wonderfully. It's soft and creamy texture makes it gentle yet effective on the skin, but it still removes even the toughest remains of the day. It even melts away my waterproof mascara with ease. I can definitely tell this is going to be a repurchase!

Nivea Original Moisturiser.

This oldie but a goodie is something that I keep returning to. I noticed that every foundation I tired even with a primer underneath, would go patchy and look like it was starting to flake of my face which wasn't a very attractive look. A quick layer of this underneath and I have a lovely smooth base which makes my foundation look a million times better.

VO5 Give Me Texture.

My go to hair style has currently being a case of #bighairdontcare and I've been embracing my ultra thick locks. So that it doesn't just hang by my face I've been giving it a quick spritz of this through the mid lengths which has given me a stylish bed head look. Oh and it works wonders after styling with a curling wand for that undone look.

Nars Blush in Zen.

I'd been after a really neutral blusher for a while and came across Zen whilst I was at work. To be honest I hadn't really put much thought into if it would work for my skin tone, but oh my. This is the most perfect subtle contour shade and it perfect for warming up the face. I thoroughly recommend having a nosey if you're by a Nars counter.

Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 2 Palette.

This is the only palette I have been reaching for in the past month. It is perfect for a natural day time look or a deep smokey eye. All bases are covered with this little beauty, and I've especially been loving the olive and navy shades for a twist on a classic smokey eye.

I think that there have been a nice mix of favourites this month, but there could have been so many more products! What have been your favourites this month?

Nip and Fab Deep Cleansing Fix

For the past few months I've been determined to really make a difference to my skin and update my skincare routine. So far so good, and one of the products that has been high on my list of favourites is this cleanser from Nip and Fab.

I'm a little bit of a cleanser addict and always think that there is always a need for more than on the go. This particular one is not only my new favourite cleanser but it is a fantastic multi use product. As the name suggests this is a deep cleansing cream,  but it can also be used as an intensive face mask, blemish treatment and overnight mask. All of which I've tried and they all work wonderfully in their own way. 

The texture of this is a thick, yet light on the skin cream which is akin to a body butter. I like to take a tiny bit at a time and apply this in circular motions on my face until it is covered and then rinse of with a muslin cloth. As a face mask, I like to thickly apply this and leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse. This leaves my skin silky smooth and without a trace of the day left behind. 

I've certainly noticed an improvement in my skin since using this and the multi use factor is a huge bonus for me! It's also a bargain too at £7.95 for a 300ml tub, which should last me a while!

Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 Palette

In a recent Makeup Revolution haul I went a little palette cray cray. I definitely think that Makeup Revolution are the best for palettes at the moment, as every single one that I have bought from them has been of exceptional quality. I've always wanted to Lorac Pro palette too so when I saw this palette had being released , I instantly ordered it.

The Iconic Pro 1 palette is a perfect mixture of matte and shimmer neutral shades which make the ideal everyday wear palette. I have been wearing mostly the matte shades for everything from shadow, to brows, to liner. It is so easy to do a barely there makeup look or a deep smokey eye with this palette, making it perfect for those desk to drinks looks. 

The formula is just lovely. Soft and buttery, easy to blend and long lasting. There is a tiny bit of fall out, especially from the darker shades but this wasn't too much of a big deal. Each shade is very pigmented, all performing as good as the last one.

March Favourites

It really is a blogger cliché to question how fast the months are going by, but seriously 201, d'ya fancy slowing down a bit?! How can it be April already? March was a very laid back month for me as I had annual leave which meant that I have enjoyed days out and shopping trips with friends and family. As a result of being off work, I have had a chance to buy and play around with more makeup,and my favourites are a nice mix of high street and high end...

Burberry Body EDP 85ml £75.00

Burberry isn't a brand I would necessarily turn to when it comes to fragrances. However, a friend of mine was wearing this and it smelt divine. As soon as she told me what it was I made an effort to try it for myself. Although it is quite a heavy being an EDP it isn't at all over powering with its floral and slightly fruity scent. With top nots of peach and freesia, these lift the base notes of amber, woody cashmere and musk. 

Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream £25.50

I got a miniature of this in a Christmas gift set and I loved it! I noticed that this rally made a difference in lifting the skin around my eyes and brightening my under eye area. I apply this morning and night, but it still lasts such a long time.

Bourjois Poudre de Riz £9.99

Now that Spring has sprung I have been favouring a soft and glowing look. However, due to my oily skin I have been wearing a completely matte foundation which can make me look a little flat. A quick dusting of this over the top and my skin has a lovely natural glow.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Leather Effect in Chocolate Suede £4.99

For the entirety of the month I have been wearing a deep brown smokey eye. I love dark bronze shades all year round and this is definitely my new favourite thing. This is ultra easy to wear on its own or under a powder shadow.

Dainty Doll Cream Shadow in Billion Dollar Babies

Unfortunately I couldn't find a link for this in the UK :( I have been using this taupe cream shade to add a very slight contour to my cheekbones. This has a grey undertone to it which makes it perfect for adding a shadow to the face. I like to blend this out with a touch of bronzer, and then it's hello cheekbones!

So those have been my favourites this month. I've recently bought some more makeup storage so I'm hoping this will encourage to use more products, so my April Favourites might be completely different to this month :)

Five Spring Pinks

Now Spring is in our midst, and the weather seems to be getting ever so slightly better, I've been switching up my makeup products as I do every season. As it starts getting sunnier and hopefully warmer the thing that that I like to swap and change the most is my lip colour. 

In winter, I tend to go for dark, matte shades, and in spring I tend to go for a lighter, more glossy finish. That being said, a matte finish will always be my all time favourite. As a pink shade is what I tend to reach for the most, I thought I would share with you my top five picks...

Rimmel Kate Moss 101

A creamy blue toned matte shade which is so easy to wear. This is one of those that I throw on if I want something quick and simple. Perfect for everyday wear, and friendly on the purse strings too.

MAC Sunny Seoul 

Is relatively new to my stash, you can see it in my Back to MAC post here. Despite being new, I can just tell that I am going to be wearing this non stop. It is more coral than a typical pink but it does have a slightly pink toned shimmer to it.

Rimmel Apocalips in Nova

The glossiest of all the choices. This is a slightly deeper pink than all of the others but it still has a beautiful tone to it. Although it is quite glossy I find that it still has good lasting power and very easy to wear. 

Topshop Lipstick in Brighton Rock

One of the original shades from their makeup line and my forever favourite! This is such a bright, fun shade and everyone always comments on this when I wear it. It's also a great dupe for MACs Impassioned.

MAC Creme Cup

This is my most worn lip product by a mile! Like Rimmel 101 it s so easy to wear if your in a hurry. I find that this pale pink shade pulls all my makeup together and makes it look as though I have spent a while on my makeup even if I only spent 5 minutes.

The Three New Additions

After saving up all my MAC empties, I finally got round to participating in their Back to MAC scheme. I had been saving them up for a while and today I had enough for three lipsticks which left me with the difficult decision of picking them.

The Back to MAC scheme is such a great little scheme by MAC. It allows you take back six of their empty packaging in return for a free lipstick. The only exceptions are that you cannot pick limited edition shades or the Viva Glam shades. The only pieces of packaging that you cannot exchange are secondary packaging such as shopping bags and boxes, samples, applicators such as brushes, sponges and accessories like lashes. 

As I had 18 empties I had enough for three lipsticks. The shades that I picked up were Pink Plaid, Sunny Seoul and Honey Love. I had been wanting a nude shade that was warm enough without been too brown and cool enough without been too pale. Originally I had wanted Velvet Teddy but trying to track that down is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack so that is why I picked up Honey Love instead. 

I had also gone with a coral shade in mind, as one of my favourite shades is Cut A Caper, but as this was a limited edition shade I am trying to wear it as little as possible in the hope that it is re-released. The shade that was most similar was Sunny Seoul which I haven't heard a lot about, but it is quite a pink toned coral, and will be lovely for spring/summer.

The final shade that I picked up was Pink Plaid. This is one that I have seen time and time again and have just bypassed it as I didn't think that it looked anything special.That was until I swatched it in store and saw just how lovely it was. Pink Plaid is a dusky pink shade with a matte finish that will be perfect for all occasions. 

If you have some near to finishing MAC products, keep hold of them and save them up for the Back to MAC scheme because it really is worth it. All of this should have cost £46.50 but ended up costing me absolutely nothing!

Big Anniversary Giveaway
