MUA Lip Products Haul

As you all know, I'm a massive fan of the brand MUA and cant resist a few bargain buys from them.

This time was a whole order of lip products to add to my ever growing collection. Firstly, I got 5 different lipsticks in shade 5, 12, Bare, Juicy, and Nectar.

I'd been after Bare, Juicy and Nectar for a while but my nearest superdrug's doesn't ever have them  in and I was a little cautious about buying them online just in case I hated them. But at a pound each it was hardly going to be money wasted if I didn't like them. Definitely money well spent as they are the perfect summer colours.
Shade 5 and 12 were always ones that I had seen in store but there were only ever grubby looking ones left. I really love these colours because they're quite unique really. These are more like a gloss than a lipstick as they have a sheer finish to them. But unlike a gloss they have the perfect even finish thats non sticky, but with plenty of shine to them.
The final product I bought was the LipBoom in OMG. This is a true peach with a strong pink hue running through it. The matte lipstick is perfect on its own for an effortless bright lip, but with the gloss it really makes your lips look voluminous. The gold and pink sparkles in the gloss add a really nice and different look to this colour.

Do any of you have any of these colours? What do you think of the LipBooms? Let me know beauties.

Nothing better than a new lipstick...or 4

After what was the most awful day at work yesterday I decided I needed something to cheer me up. This comes in the form of four new lipsticks that I've had my eye on for a while.

The first ones I got were 17's 'Beehive' and 'Nudist Peach'. Both of these are nude shades, leaning towards pink. I had beehive on today for the first time and it makes my lips look amazing. When swatched, both shades look quite sheer with just a tiny hint of colour, but when they go on the lips they're the kind of 'Your lips but better' shades. Just perfect for everyday. These are the mirror shine on type of lipstick from 17. £4.59 each available from boots.

The second two lipsticks I got couldn't have been any different from the first two. These were Kate Moss for Rimmel in shade 04 and Sleek's Mulberry. Both of these are very very dark purple shades, something which I've been looking for, for a while now. The Kate Moss lipstick is a quite obvious purple shade thats not mate but isnt really glossy. I think this will be really nice for a night out. However, Mulberry from Sleek is going to take some getting used to. It's so dark its almost black which I don't mind but I've never had a lipstick like this before. The formula of this is so soft and creamy, its the best formula of any lipstick that I've had in a long time. At the moment the Kate Moss lipsticks are half price in Boots.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? Any recommendations for dupes of these colours? Let me know lovelies :)

MUA Lip Boom

The beauty genius's at MUA have done it again and created a wonder product that is unique within the beauty market.

L-R Its A Situation and LMK
MUA Lip Booms have been created with Alexandra Burke and there are 8 different shades to choose from. Each of the shades consists of a matte lipstick and a highlighter gloss. There are 4 different ways in which the lip booms can be used:
1) The Lipstick alone for a matte look
2) The Lipstick with the highlighting gloss applied to the centre of the lip for a fuller look
3) The Lipstick with the gloss all over for a super glossy look
4) The gloss all over for a sheer pearl finish

The two shades that I got were Its A Situation and LMK. Both of these are on the darker shade of the spectrum so probably not right for this time of year but regardless of that i love them.

However, im not a massive fan of the gloss as its kinda of gritty due to to massive amounts of glitter in them. The glitter is quite chunky too which makes it kinda cheap looking. But for 3 quid, who cares, its still a great bargain.

Have any of you tried these lip booms? What's your favourite shade? Let me know beauties :)

Sleek Ultra Mattes Brights Palette

I'm sure you all know how much I love a good Sleek palette and I certainly couldn't wait to try out this beauty!

Anyone who's tried a Sleek palette will know how each of their palettes consist of both shimmer and matte shades. I like this about them but I couldn't resist seeing what an entire matte palette would be like.

Safe to say I wasn't disappointed with this palette. The colours are so amazing and couldn't have been released at a better time as these are great for the spring summer months.
However, not all of the colours are as pigmented as the look in pan form. I was so impressed with the pigmentation of Cricket and Bolt and cant wait to create a look with these. Dragonfly and Strike were also a big hit with me. The ones I was not so impressed with was Sugarlite, Floss and Crete, all of which looked so good in the palette but actually go on quite sheer, and are really not buildable.
I do love this palette and the colours are amazing, and will be easy to create a variety of different looks with.
In addition to this palette, Sleek have also released a palette that is also full of mattes but a darker version. Im hoping to get my hands on this too!

Let me know if theres any makeup looks you would like me to try out with this palette? Do you have this palette or the other mattes version, would love to know what you think about them :)

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

I've always been a big fan of MAC and love nothing more than going to the counter and picking up something new.

After having my eye on a mineralize skinfinish for a while, i decided to take the plunge on monday after my exam.
I was looking at the stand and normally just pick anything up that takes my fancy, but I really was stuck with what shade to get.
A very nice worker helped me out, advised that I would be better off with Medium, and I was soon walking away with my new purchase.
I've been using this for a few days now and I literally can't imagine my skin looking better. The skinfinish gives a veil of coverage thats light on the skin. Its kind of like a translucent powder but with enough colour to create a natural looking finish.
I also noticed that this smells like cherry bakewells or amaretto, but that might be just me ^_^
Overall, I love this product, and whilst some people may find it pricey at £20.50 for 10g of product, I think its well worth it!

Let me know if you use this product and i so what do you think of it? Also, any reviews on the soft and gentle version?

Why I've been away...

Heyy lovelies, This is just a really quick post explaining why I've not really been active on my blog recently :( I've just finished my second year at university and had a couple of assignments due in. After getting those done I then had to revise for 3different exams (one of which I'm still yet to do) Then ontop of this, I've just started 2 new jobs. The first job is with a travel company, nothing glamorous or exciting really but it's money. The second is just one every now and then with. My friend who's studying photography. I'm just doing the makeup for the shoots that they organise. So I've been ultra busy gathering lots of stuff together for that!!!! I between all of this I've been seeing family and friends. I know this might not sound like a lot of work for some people but when it's all at the same time, trust me I've been stressed! I promise I will be back on the ball with many blog posts very soon, and will be back bigger than before! I've got lots of exciting things to show you so I don't want you to feel like I'm just taking a back seat with the blogging. I can assure you I'm not! I hope that wasn't too boring but I thought I should all give you a heads up about what's occurring. Thankyou lovelies!
